YOUNGSTOWN, OH (WOIO) - A Youngstown man has been sentenced to 92 to life in prison for shooting a man who tried to break up a fight.
Columbus Jones was convicted earlier this week of aggravated murder, 11 counts of felonious assault and improperly firing a gun into a home.
During an altercation at an off campus fraternity party in February 2011, Jones started shooting into a crowd. Youngstown State University student Jamail Johnson, who was trying to be the peacemaker, was killed.
Mark Jones, Columbus' brother who was with him at the time, is set for trial next week.
