CUYAHOGA HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - The State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly accident involving a pedestrian on I-77.
The pedestrian - identified as 31-year-old Matthew Scott Jakubecz - was hit by two cars and killed just before 10 p.m. Sunday night.
Police say Jakubecz was driving a vehicle southbound on I-77 when he pulled his vehicle to the right side of the road. He then exited his vehicle and entered the southbound lanes of travel. Jakubecz was struck in the middle lane by a Ford Windstar, and landed in the far left lane where he was struck by a Chrysler 300.
The Garfield Heights man was rushed to Metro, where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation is underway.
