Hopkins Airport hosts disaster exercises

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport will conduct a mass casualty disaster drill today.

Three separate scenarios will be covered, including a terrorism incident and a simulated crash of a Cleveland Clinic Foundation patient transport aircraft.

The exercise is a test of the airport's emergency plan in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Part 139 Certification requirements. Police, fire, rescue and emergency personnel from 53 agencies from all areas in the region will respond to the mock disaster.
