SUMMIT COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - During the recent economic downturn, the Summit County Sheriff's Office was forced to make numerous cuts throughout the agency. One of the most serious cuts involved the Summit County Jail and the laundry needs for inmates. The Summit County Jail was in great need of towels and linens.
It was brought to the attention of Sheriff's Office staff members that many hotels discard serviceable towels that don't meet guest standards. Last month, Sheriff Drew Alexander contacted local hotels and asked if they would be interested in donating gently used towels to be utilized at the jail.
