Evacuation over at Hiram College; nothing found


Hiram College was evacuated for nearly five hours Friday, after officials received a bomb threat.

The threat was received around five p.m.   Fire and safety teams, with bomb sniffing dogs, checked all campus building.  FBI agents were also on site and assisted local authorities.

Safety officials completed their sweep of campus around 9:30 p.m.

The investigation into identifying the responsible person(s) will continue.

The dining hall will be open until Midnight Friday. Counseling will be available from 9 a.m. to Noon on Saturday for those wanting to talk with someone.

Hiram College is located in the historic village of Hiram, Ohio, 35 miles southeast of Cleveland.
