The man accused in the violent cold case rape of a child went before a judge on Monday morning.
Marion Williams III pleaded not guilty to rape, kidnapping and having a weapon under disability.
On January 17, 1996, the 12-year-old victim was walking near West 65th and Franklin Avenue where she was grabbed at gunpoint by Williams.
Williams forced the victim to walk to the rear of a home on West Clinton Avenue. The 37-year-old man then pushed the victim to the ground, pointed a gun at her and raped her. Williams told the victim that he knew where she lived and if she told the police, he would kill her.
Williams fled, and the victim returned home and informed her mother. The victim was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released.
In April of 2012, a search of the Ohio State DNA Index System (SDIS), returned a match to Williams.
A warrant was issued and Williams was arrested on August 1, 2012.
