BROOKLYN, OH (WOIO) - ODOT crews cleared the scene and reopened the Jennings Freeway just after 10 p.m. Tuesday night. An overturned tractor trailer at the SR 176 southbound ramp to I-480 eastbound shut the freeway down around 12:15 p.m.
Officials say a commercial vehicle operated by Shippers Consolidation and Distribution of Cleveland overturned spilling a corrosive material onto the roadway. The vehicle was on the ramp from Brookpark Road to Interstate 480 eastbound. The driver was transported to Metro Hospital. His name and condition are not known.
The State Highway Patrol, ODOT, HAZMAT and local police and fire personnel were called to the scene. Motorists can detour via SR 176 southbound to Brookpark Road eastbound to I-480 eastbound.
SR 176 southbound ramp to I-480 eastbound remained closed most of the evening.
