One injured in rec center robbery & shooting

Cleveland Police are investigating a shooting at the Cory Recreation Center that left one man  injured.

It happened at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police received a call for shots fired at 10510 Drexel Avenue.  When they arrived, they located a man with a gunshot wound to the leg.  EMS transported the victim to Metro, where he is being treated for his injuries.

The preliminary investigation reveals that two men in black hoodies entered the rec center through the front door and went to the gym to play basketball.  While in the gym the men let a third man, wearing a red hoodie, in through a side entrance.  The men then produced handguns and started to rob up to seven other men inside the rec center.  During the robbery, one of the victims, a 37-year-old, was shot in the leg.  After robbing the victims the three suspects fled on foot.
