(WOIO) - Well, it was just a matter of time before the nfl's gamble to use replacement referees would blow up in its face. The controversial last second Seattle touchdown capped off a weekend with countless questionable and missed calls. That got both sides talking.
You know, we live in strange times. The stock market seems to feel good about the economy but try telling that to the 10% who are still out of work or the many more who worry about losing their jobs.
But that did not stop Chicago teachers from asking for a significant raise. Or the NFL refs who make $150,000 but want $190,000 for what amounts to a part-time job.
And, it's odd to see coaches who are afraid to mouth-off about the officiating because they work for the same owners who created this mess in the first place.
Well, one thing is certain. The Cleveland Browns have not won a game yet and they cannot point a finger at the refs. As they say on survivor -- the Browns have been outwitted and outplayed and it's just a matter of time before the Browns new owner brings in replacement coaches.
