Human remains found beneath old Cleveland elementary school
19 Action News Reporter Scott Taylor has discovered human remains have been found beneath the old Miles Elementary School in Cleveland.
A human jaw bone and other remains were found where they are building the new Miles Elementary School at East 119th and Miles Avenue.
Construction workers were digging with heavy equipment and found a human jaw bone. Neighbors have no idea who was buried underneath the school.
"It's very shocking.. I never thought that underground... It's been sitting there for God knows how long," says neighbor Emilio Garcia.
The construction worker who found the remains says he thought it was really odd to find human remains underneath an old elementary school. He says investigators pulled out at least 23 bones from the construction site.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has confirmed the bones are human and have been there for a very long time. Who that person was, remains a complete mystery.
