Medina man charged after trying to abduct 12-year-old girls

MONTVILLE, OH (WOIO) - A 39-year-old Medina man is charged with criminal child enticement after an attempted luring in Montville on Friday.

Cops were called to the neighborhood of Cobblestone Park near Ralph Waite Elementary school around 3:30 p.m. for an attempted abduction involved two 12-year-old girls.

According to the victims, they were greeted by the suspect, You B. Yang, while they were riding their bicycles.

Yang asked the girls if they needed a ridge, to which they declined. Yang continued to follow them in his vehicle, and then told them to get in the car.

The girls fled to a safe location on their bikes, and the Montville Police were contacted.

Responding officers quickly found Yang in the Cobblestone Park neighborhood, and placed him under arrest.

Limited additional information was obtained from Yang despite assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Cleveland and Akron Field Offices and a Mandarin translator.

Yang's currently behind bars at the Medina County Jail.
