Cleveland (WOIO) - Coming into Monday night, the math was simple for the White Sox. Win their final three, hope the Tigers lose their final three, and hope the Indians don't find a way to spoil the party. Otherwise, the Central Division title once again belonged to Detroit.
The Sox took care of business on their end, putting four runs on the board in the 6th inning, and then blowing it open with a Dayan Viciedo grand slam in the 9th, as they cruised past the Tribe with a 11-0 win.
The bad news for the Sox? The Tigers were well on their way to a 6-3 win in Kansas City, giving them their second straight division title, and third in four years.
