Armed robber confesses to Akron heists

An 18-year-old Akron man confesses to two armed robberies in the city. Dvante Antwan Dier Suddeth is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.

On September 28, Suddeth went into Georgio's Pizza shop and robbed the employee at gunpoint with 2 guns. On October 1,  Suddeth went to Pandora Novelties and Gifts and robbed the employees there at gunpoint.

Around 11:00am Wednesday morning, detectives were patrolling the area of Highland Square due to the increase in recent robberies. The detectives observed a man behind a business at West Market Street and South Balch Street. The man was sitting on a wall near some bushes. He was wearing the same clothing worn by the robbery suspect at Pandora Novelty and Gifts and Georgio's Pizza. Detectives stopped the subject and recovered a black backpack containing a BB gun.

Detectives arrested Suddeth. He was charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery and booked into the Summit County Jail. Additional charges are expected.
