Medina man busted on turnpike for Akron bank robbery

Ohio State troopers capture a Medina man suspected of robbing an Akron bank.

Troopers stopped 26-year-old William Hawes after he was speeding on the Ohio turnpike.  He was clocked going 89 miles per hour in a 70.

A check of his license revealed he was wanted for armed robbery of a First Merit Bank.

Troopers discovered drugs in the vehicle and cash in the suspect's wallet that appeared to be dye stained, as if a bank dye-pack had exploded.

Hawes was charged with possession of heroin.  He's jailed at the Erie County Jail.
