A deadly accident in Geauga County on Monday morning.
The two-car crash happened around 7:30 a.m. on Auburn Road at Sherman Road in Munson Township.
A 1993 Ford Escort, driven by Nathan Petersen, 24, of Chardon, was eastbound on Sherman Road. A 2002 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Brian Danison, 41, of Chardon, was southbound on Auburn Road.
Petersen stopped at the stop sign for Auburn Road then pulled into the path of the Jeep and was struck. He was flown by helicopter to Metro Hospital in Cleveland where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Jeep was taken to Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, where he was treated and released.
Safety belts were in use by both parties, and minimized injuries to Danison.
