PORTAGE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - The Portage County Sheriff is requesting the public's assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery.
It happened at 3:26 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Circle K convenience store on Waterloo Road in Randolph Township.
The suspect confronted the female clerk before throwing her to the ground and demanding money.
The man was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of cash along with several cartons of Marlboro cigarettes. He then fled the store on foot.
The clerk did not require medical treatment.
The subject did not display a weapon, but did indicate to the clerk his intention to harm her if she did not comply with his demands.
The subject is described as a white man, medium build and dark hair. He was wearing a gray baseball cap, maroon sweatshirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. He had a black shirt wrapped around his lower face and facial hair.
Anyone who has information about the identity of the suspect is urged to not take any action on their own, but to call the Portage County Sheriffs Office at 330-296-5100.
