Police: Man fired shots, crashed into tree

GARFIELD HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - Police are investigating an overnight car crash that landed a 33-year-old Garfield Heights man in the hospital.

Around 12:30 a.m., witnesses reported hearing several shots fired outside of Bonker's Cafe on Turney Road in Garfield Heights. About one minute later, an officer responding to the scene witnessed a man driving away at a high rate of speed. The man lost control of his car and crashed into a tree on the 9600 block of McCracken Boulevard. He was ejected from the vehicle.

The victim, identified as Donald Enzman, was transported by Life Flight to MetroHealth Medical Center where he is currently in critical condition.

Garfield Heights Police later determined Enzman had just left Bonker's Cafe and is the same person who fired a gun outside. Police don't believe he was shooting at anyone or anything.
