The Browns signed wide receiver Rod Windsor to the practice squad, the team announced on Wednesday. To make room for Windsor, the club released linebacker Benjamin Jacobs from the practice squad and waived defensive lineman Marcus Benard from Injured Reserve.
Windsor spent 15 weeks on the Browns' practice squad last season before being inactive for the final two games. He spent training camp with the club this year before being waived on final cut downs on August 31. He caught five passes for 51 yards and a touchdown in the preseason with the Browns.
Benard played three seasons for the Browns, playing in 25 games racking up 45 tackles and 11.5 sacks. His season was cut short last year after a motorcycle accident.
