MEDINA, OH (WOIO) -

A Medina couple welcomed five beautiful babies into the world over the weekend.

Leann and Jake Alferio became the proud parents to quintuplets at Fairview Hospital on October 7.

The Alferio quintuplets, Giovanni, Brooklyn, Kensley, Jade and Leighton, are doing very well. The babies were just taken off their breathing masks.

Leann came home Thursday night.

"It was hard to leave them and come home," Leann said. "Any woman who has just delivered is an emotional train wreck, but I feel like mine is a little bit multiplied."

The babies were born within two minutes of each other.

Proud Papa Jake is happy to have his wife back home, and the babies birth is something he'll never forget.

"The first time I heard them cry, you hear that five times and the nurse was like with each baby crying your eyes are getting redder and redder," Jake said.

Giovanni weighed 3 lbs and 6 oz and was born at 11:46 a.m., Brooklyn was 2 lbs, 8 oz and was born at 11:47 a.m., Kensley was 2 lbs, 12.6 oz and was born at 11:47 a.m., Jade was 2 lbs, 6.6 oz and was born at 11:47 a.m. and Leighton was 2 lbs, 6.5 oz and was born at 11:48 a.m.

Jake and Leann are hoping to bring the quints home sometime in December.
