OTTAWA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - The Highway Patrol is investigating a one-car accident that happened in Salem Township in Ottawa County just after 1 a.m. Saturday.
Troopers say Joni Parker, 31 of Oak Harbor was driving south on Woodrick Road near Cullmun Road when she went off the right side of the road striking a ditch, a culvert and then a utility pole.
Parker, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.
The utility pole was sheered in half and entangled with the vehicle. The electrical power lines and transformer were also damaged but were held up by the SUV.
Parker was flown from the crash scene by LifeFlight and taken to University of Toledo Medical Center.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
