STREETSBORO, OH (WOIO) - A 24-year-old woman was busted for driving the wrong way on I-480 while drunk.
On Saturday, October 13 at 3:17 a.m., Streetsboro Police received a phone call reporting a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-480 in the westbound lanes heading toward Streetsboro.
Two Streetsboro officers responded to the area and located the vehicle about a half mile into Hudson on I-480.
The Streetsboro officers turned and activated their emergency lights and siren in an attempt to stop the vehicle.
It would not stop and continued east in the westbound lanes.
Officers pursued the vehicle into Streetsboro and onto State Route 14 where I-480 ends.
The pursuit was brought to an end on State Route 14 near Shady Lake Drive when a Streetsboro unit pulled in front of the vehicle and slowly brought the vehicles to a stop.
The pursuit reached speeds as high as 80 mph.
Ashley Stewart was the driver and only occupant of the 2007 Black Lincoln. She was arrested at the scene and charged with failure to comply with the signal of a police officer and OVI.
Stewart refused to take a breathalyzer test.
A Summit County Sheriff's deputy also assisted and his vehicle sustained minor damage when Stewart was removed from her car and it rolled into the deputy's car.
Luckily, there were no injuries at the end of the incident.
