A six-year-old girl dies after being struck by a car over the weekend.
The accident happened at 4 p.m. on Sunday near East 107th and St. Clair.
The preliminary investigation reveals that victim, Angela Brown, and her 21-year-old sister were standing at the intersection of E. 107th & St. Clair. Brown was holding her sister's hand, and for reasons unknown, released her sister's hand and attempted to cross the street.
At this time, a 2008 Dodge Caliber was traveling westbound on St. Clair Avenue struck Brown as she was attempting to run across the street. After hitting the little girl, the driver of Dodge stopped, remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
There is no marked crosswalk at this location
Speed is not believed to be a factor in this accident.
