John Lane is possibly Mr. Beer of Cleveland. He purchases the beer and is owning partner of the Winking Lizard chains across northeast Ohio.
"If you talk to any craft brewers throughout the United States, they'll tell you that Cleveland Beer Week is one of the three best in the country," Lane said.
And Lane should know.
In August he was knighted Brussels. The honorary position was given for everything he does for Belgium's beer industry and its economy, by importing and valuing Belgium beer.
"If you look at pinnacle of careers, everyone does that every guys does that as he grows up this to me is the pinnacle of my career."
With 350 different events to showcase craft breweries and their beers, Lane is in heaven during Beer Week. And there's something for everyone, from simple beer tastings to grand dinners with beer pairings.
Even if you're not a beer drinker, a week-long festival like this means even more dollars being spent in and around the city.
"It brings everyone out," said one beer drinker who came out Friday night for the tapping event. "I came out to have a good time, and I think everyone spends a little bit more. They're a little bit more expensive, but well worth it."
