CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH (WOIO) - A bombshell update to a case of pipe bombs found in a Cuyahoga Falls home. David Dougherty, the man authorities say doctored up potentially destructive pipe bombs in his basement was once a doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
Rich Wittman who lives next door says the once good doctor is a bad neighbor, "We just had some words. He didn't care for me and I didn't care for him" said Wittman.
Bad neighbor or not the State Medical Board says he was a bad doctor one who could have done quote " Serious harm to the public". After several suspensions his license was revoked and it has been inactive since September of 2005.
Paramedics rushed to Dougherty's Washington Avenue house Saturday afternoon after his girlfriend called 9-1-1.
They found him unconscious along with 5 pipe bombs. He was taken to the hospital. The bomb squad removed his arsenal including guns and ammunition. The police even found a small pot growing operation.
Dougherty was treated and released from the hospital. He was arraigned today and is in jail in lieu of a 500,000 dollar bond.
