WELLINGTON, OH (WOIO) - A manhunt in Wellington is underway. The FBI and the Wellington Police Department are searching for the man who robbed of the Sun Center Federal Credit Union on October 23, 2012.
The Sun Center Federal Credit Union, 805 Patriot Drive, was robbed by a lone white male at approximately 3:36pm on Tuesday.
Police say the subject is described as a white male, approximately 5'6" in height. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, faded blue jean pants, black gloves, black shoes and a wintery type scarf around his face, possibly red or purple in color, only his eyes were showing at the time of the robbery. A bluish/green/gray tattoo on the forearm of the subject was observed by a witness exiting the credit union prior to the robbery.
The subject entered the Credit Union, displayed a handgun and ordered the first teller to place money from her teller drawer into a white garbage bag with a red tie. The teller complied and the subject instructed the second teller to place money into the same bag. Upon compliance by the second teller, the subject ordered both tellers verbally and by pointing the gun at them to proceed to the back room of the building and close the door. Once the back room door was closed the subject exited the credit union. No physical injuries were reported.
It is believed the subject exited the credit union by foot, traveled through a wooded area and entered a getaway vehicle. It is not known at this time if the vehicle was driven by the subject or another accomplice.
