Lockdown lifted at Garfield Heights schools, police to remain

GARFIELD HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -
The Garfield Heights City Schools were placed on lockdown due to a gun threat on Thursday morning.

This, after the police department received a call from an individual who communicated an intent to come to the high school at 8:30 a.m. with a gun. 

The lockdown was lifted around 9:15 a.m., but all school buildings will continue to have a police presence and will remain on high alert.

The police department and school district are continuously investigating the situation.
