Big kiddie porn bust--shopping for victims?

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH (WOIO) -

A 59-year old Cleveland man was indicted Friday on more than 75 pornography charges.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Tim McGinty announced that Allen Warner was indicted on 78 charges including 50 counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, 25 counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material or performance, two counts of voyeurism, and one count of possessing criminal tools.

Between February 1, 2002, and October 17, 2012, Warner created, downloaded, transported and/or shared files containing child pornography.  Warner's case was ultimately uncovered when an investigator with the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, working in an undercover capacity, responded to an anonymous Internet ad.  In the ad, Warner indicated that he was looking for adults to share secretly recorded videos of their "loved ones" in a state of nudity or sexual acts.  He also indicated that he had secretly been recording family members and wanted to share and/or trade the images.

On October 17, 2012, Warner arrived at a prearranged location thinking he was meeting a father who was willing to record his own daughter's nude.  Warner showed the investigator the surveillance equipment that he had brought, which included alarm clocks and DVD players containing hidden cameras.  Warner was subsequently detained while members of the Ohio ICAC Task Force executed a search warrant of his vehicle. Items found in the vehicle were: 80 miscellaneous 8mm video tapes, a monitor, a laptop, two digital cameras, miscellaneous sex toys, two baby monitors, commercial pornography magazines and DVD's, twelve channel digital receivers, a DVD / Video player with a hidden pin hole camera, a radio with a hidden pin hole camera, Sony handycam, seven USB drives, two SD cards, wireless LCD receivers, iPad, two cell phones, child pornography, and binoculars.

After executing the search warrant on the vehicle, members of the Ohio ICAC Task Force executed additional search warrants at Warner's Bainbridge residence and a storage facility located in Warrensville Heights.  Items seized from the residence include: a Dell computer and four CD's. The storage unit was found to have an AM/FM clock radio, two DVD players, mail addressed to Allen Warner, pictures of juvenile children, two laptops, a duffle bag with stuffed animals and alcohol, a box of miscellaneous sex toys, a VCR, three pornography DVD's, three CD's, ten VHS tapes, three 8mm video tapes, and a VCR.

The ICAC Task Force conducted a preliminary forensic examination of the materials seized and discovered that Warner was taping his victims without their knowledge in various states of nudity and/or sexual activity.  Victims have already been identified as minor children known to Warner, as well as current and former mistresses.  One of these victims was unaware that Warner was married and lived less than 30 miles away.  Investigators successfully located and removed the hidden cameras, some of which were still actively recording in the known victims' houses. The investigation is ongoing at this time and further charges are expected.

Warner was arrested by members of the Ohio ICAC Task Force with assistance from the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office and the Parma Police Department on October 17, 2012. Warner has been released on a $250,000 bond.

Arraignment has not yet been scheduled.

The defendant filmed victims who have yet to be ID'ed. Anyone with additional information or believes they are a victim, please contact the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force at (440) 886-5284.
