Cleveland (WOIO) - Two days before the Browns host San Diego at the stadium, head coach Pat Shurmur met with the media to discuss the game. Here's what the coach had to say.
(Opening Statement)- "Not much to add, it was a good practice today. We had as many guys out here today as we've had, and we're getting ready to go."
(On how Trent Richardson is doing)- "I think today was his third good day of practice. He's better this Friday than he was last. I can't tell you exactly what's going to happen Sunday, but he had a good practice."
(On if it is unknown how Richardson will deal with contact)- "I think we've just got to make our decisions based on where he is health wise. The good news is you always play more than one running back. We'll just see how he's doing and then put the roster together with those things in mind."
(On if Ahtyba Rubin aggravated his injury last week and what his status is for this week)- "I don't know what his status will be yet for this week. I wouldn't say he aggravated it. We'll just have to see if he's ready to go. It's the same, the calf, lower leg or whatever."
(On if Mohamed Massaquoi will be back this week)- "I don't know. We'll see. He had a good week of practice so we'll see."
(On if they will have a roster move)- "Yeah, you'll see one here coming out. Phil (Taylor) actually is kind of an extra player until he goes on the field. Yeah, we'll make a change. It's coming out here this afternoon. We had a couple of guys we were watching practice to just kind of see how they were so we can make the move. We're going to go in there and talk about it."
(On if Malcom Floyd is a one-dimensional receiver because of his ability to go over the top)- "Malcom Floyd? No, he's a multi-dimensional receiver for sure. He can catch the ball in traffic. He can get behind you. He's good at catching the ball in intermediate areas as well. No, I don't think he's one dimensional at all."
(On where Jarrod Shaw plays best)- "He's a guard. Him moving up, I think it was good. He had a good week of practice. He's primarily a guard."
