Celebrities in costume run for ASPCA

On Sunday, October 28, 2012, the Halloween themed Rock 'n' Roll Los Angeles Half Marathon benefiting the ASPCA took place. 

 Over 12,000 runners took to the streets of downtown Los Angeles dressed up in their favorite costumes to conquer a one-of-a -kind course.  There were several celebrity participants.

Hawthorne, California's Mary Akor took home first in the women's division finishing the 13.1 mile course in 1:14:19.  Fernando Cabada from Boulder, CA took home the overall first place position finishing at 1:04:56!

Will Ferrell dressed as Ron Burgundy, finished the half marathon in 2:03:49.  Olympian and DWTS Shawn Johnson ran the mini- marathon before checking out the adoptable dogs.  American Idol's Skylar Laine sang the National Anthem. 

Neil Everett from ESPN was present.  Andrea Barber- everyone's favorite- Kimmy Gibbler- joined two girlfriends and dressed as "run-away" brides; they finished top 10 in the costume contest.

The most popular costumes at the event were super heroes (Avengers), brides, bananas, cops and the Fab Five.  The Dirty Heads performed with opening act Camryn.

The event helped the ASPCA provide life-saving programs and services to millions of animals in need nationwide.
