Mentor opens emergency shelter for residents

MENTOR, OH (WOIO) - Power is out and trees are down in many Mentor neighborhoods.

Mentor residents needing emergency shelter can take refuge at the Mentor Senior Center located at 8484 Munson Road.

The facility will be open starting at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Transportation to the shelter may be able to be arranged by calling the Mentor Municipal Center at 440-255-1100.

Residents who are evacuated and need to take shelter at the Senior Center are advised to pack a bag with items to cover a 24 to 48 hour period.

Please bring any medications that you may need, and phone numbers of relatives or friends that you may need to notify of your location.

Do not bring pets to the Senior Center.

Those with special medical needs should call ahead to 440-255-1100 to make arrangements.
