AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Shortly after 12:30pm Tuesday afternoon, both Akron Police and Fire responded to Akron Children's Hospital, located at 1 Perkins Square, for a bomb threat.
The anonymous caller said there was an orange bag in the lobby with a bomb. The hospital was secured by hospital security, staff, officers and firefighters.
Hospital staff followed their established procedures during the bomb threat while officers and other hospital staff searched the various areas. No device was found.
Around 1:30pm the hospital returned to their normal business of providing excellent medical care for infants, children and teens.
