Cleveland (WOIO) - The Mid-American Conference released their preseason basketball poll Tuesday morning, with Akron selected to finish second and Kent State third in the MAC East Division. Ohio University was the favorite to win the MAC East.
Akron's Zeke Marshall was tabbed as a 1st Team All-MAC selection.
The Zips return eight letterwinners and four starters from last year's squad, led by Marshall, who is the reigning MAC Defensive Player of the Year. The team also returns starters Alex Abreu (Second-Team All-MAC), Chauncey Gilliam and Brian Walsh.
The Golden Flashes return only one starter, Randal Holt, from last year's team. Holt averaged 12.7 points per game last season.
