Cold Weekend, Many Still Without Power, APL Cat Special

It's dry and cold to start this Friday. A disturbance will move across the area this morning and will kick off a few rain and snow showers mainly east of Cleveland. This could produce a dusting in the snow belt. Expect a few showers coming off of the lake to continue tonight into Saturday before drier air wins out. The cold air will remain, but more in the way of sunshine will build in into next week.

Cuyahoga County - 57,468 customers are without power

Ashtabula County - 210 customers are without power

Geauga County - 553 customers are without power

Lorain County - 1,770 customers are without power

Medina County - less than 5 customers are without power

Summit CountY - 10 customers are without power

Crews continue to work around the clock to repair downed power lines and blown transformers. More than 200,000 First Energy customers lost power after Super Storm Sandy ripped through Northeast Ohio. Although the APL now has power again, they still have many cats that need homes.  The APL is still honoring the $5 cat adoption fees for all cats and kittens and will be through Sunday due to closing early Wednesday evening.  50 cats and one long term pittie were adopted Wednesday evening and more than 30 went home with families before close on Thursday.
