Funeral set for 3 Toledo children killed by grandma and uncle

TOLEDO, OH (WOIO) - The funeral service for all three children killed by their grandmother and uncle will be Monday, November 19 at 11 a.m. at Olivet Lutheran Church. Hundreds of community members are expected to show up and show their love and support for the family.

The Lucas County coroner ruled Wednesday that grandmother Sandy Ford, her son Andy Ford, and her three grandchildren, Paige Hayes, 10,  Logan Hayes, 6,  and Madalyn Hayes, 5, all died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Their bodies were all found in Ford's West Toledo garage on Monday, all killed in a murder-suicide.  Police say a hose had been run from the exhaust pipe of an idling pickup truck into the window of the car.

The children's parents, Mandy and Chris Hayes, say the three children had been living with their grandparents, but they had no warning something was wrong.

Community members that would still like to help the Hayes family are being asked to make a donation, at any Huntington Bank branch, toward the "Hayes Children's Scholarship Fund".

The money will ensure the remaining children, a 9-year-old boy and infant,  won't have to worry about the financial burden of college costs.
