BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

It's an early edition of 9 Picks this week as we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving. LSU travels to play Arkansas on Friday, Southern plays Grambling in the Bayou Classic and the Saints host the 49ers in the Dome in what promises to be another playoff type atmosphere.

Here's our Turkey style picks of the week:

#7 LSU (9-2) at Arkansas (4-7)

LSU and Arkansas kickoff Friday at 1:30 on WAFB-TV and CBS. Arkansas is coming off a 45-14 beat down by Mississippi State and any chance of a Bowl game quickly came to an end. LSU beat Ole Miss in one of the more bizarre games they have played and it was topped only by a fiery speech by Les Miles after the game. Wow, what a game!

LSU has a lot to play for including a BCS Bowl bid, a small chance at the SEC Championship and a 10 win regular season. Arkansas on the other hand is playing for next year. Miles has this team fired up and LSU could very well put together its best game of the season. Tigers playing for post-season, Hogs playing to end season:

LSU: 38    Arkansas: 16

San Francisco (8-2) at New Orleans Saints (5-5)

For many, the ending of last year's playoff game still haunts them. Malcolm Jenkins and Roman Harper chased Vernon Davis all over the field with no luck and then there was the last minute heartbreaking touchdown. Alex Smith sat out Monday's game against the Bears and Colin Kaepernick led the 49ers to a thrashing of the Chicago Bears. The Saints have won five of their last six games. Once again the Saints will have to play with their backs against the wall and the Dome will need to be rocking, and it will. The playoff march continues:

Saints: 27   49ers: 20

Grambling State (1-9) vs. Southern (3-7)

Not the records you would hope for going into the Bayou Classic. But this game is not about records, it's about bragging rights. The Jaguars have lost four in a row, two of the losses being heartbreakers. Grambling has not won a SWAC game and its lone win was against Lynchburg. The Jaguar Nation will be partying in New Orleans after beating Grambling:

Southern: 29   Grambling: 17

#4 Florida (10-1) at #10 Florida State (10-1)

UPSET ALERT: Florida has struggled late in the season and many "experts" are picking the Seminoles to roll in this one. Will Florida have Jeff Driskel back for this game and if so how effective will he be against FSU? This will be a close one, but it looks like the "experts" might be right:

Florida State: 20   Florida: 13

Kentucky (2-9) at Tennessee (4-7)

Derek Dooley was fired this past weekend after Tennessee was blown out by Vanderbilt. He is a good coach put in a tough situation left by Lane Kiffin. The Wildcats and Vols have one last chance to get an SEC victory. Somebody has to win, so I will take the Vols in this one:

Tennessee: 34   Kentucky: 17

Michigan (8-3) at Ohio State (11-0)

Michigan is six and one in their last seven games and looks to be getting stronger each week. Ohio State just wins. They are not always pretty wins, but they are wins. This one will be a high scoring game, with the Wolverines winning in the end:

Michigan: 36   Ohio State: 31

#21 Oklahoma State (8-3) at #13 Oklahoma (8-2)

Last year Oklahoma State blew out Oklahoma 44-10 and don't think the Sooners have forgotten that. This game is an important one, with the Big 12 Title on the line with a loss by Kansas State. Oklahoma State has won five of their last six and are playing their best football at the right time. The Sooners escaped an upset in Morgantown last weekend, but won't escape it this weekend:

Oklahoma State: 48   Oklahoma:35

#5 Oregon (10-1) at #15 Oregon State (8-2)

The Ducks and Beavers have one thing in common, they have been beaten by the Stanford Cardinal. Oregon's offense was exposed in the Stanford game, but it will bounce back against the Beavers. It will be a close one, but the Ducks prevail:

Oregon: 47   Oregon State: 38

Missouri (5-6) at #9 Texas A&M (9-2)

UPSET SPECIAL: Call me crazy on this one, but it's time for Texas A&M to struggle in a game they are picked to win and lose it. Missouri played Florida very tough in Gainesville and will do the same against the Aggies in College Station. Missouri has had a miserable start to their SEC debut, but this game will get them a bowl bid. Watch out Johnny Football:

Missouri: 27   Texas A&M: 23

Here's hoping that our home teams will all be victorious this week and also that you may all have a wonderful Thanksgiving (with a lot of turkey and football).

LAST WEEK: 4-5 ... SEASON TOTAL: 59-30
