STREETSBORO, OH (WOIO) - He stole Thanksgiving dinner from the less fortunate, but fortunately, police have their man.
Whether it was a theft or a big misunderstanding, the problem of the missing turkey dinners has been solved in Streetsboro. It happened because a community came together.
Through the generosity of all kinds of people coming together, the Thanksgiving cupboard is no longer bare in Streetsboro.
Monday, boxes of complete turkey dinners were taken from outside the Valvoline. Workers had taken up collections to buy the food.
When they heard that the 13 boxes, enough to feed more than 100 people were gone Streetsboro's safety forces came to the rescue. Police, fire and municipal workers handed over checks to make up the $600 needed to replace the food.
Melinda Davis of the Streetsboro Christian Cupboard says the help is the answer to many prayers.
"God has his ways and that's what he does, he always provides and it is that way," Davis said.
