Cleveland Metro Post Trooper of the Year

Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Lawrence Roberts has been selected 2012 Trooper of the Year at the Cleveland Metro Post.

The selection of Trooper Lawrence Roberts, 42, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2012 at the Cleveland Metro Post.  Fellow officers stationed at the Cleveland Metro Post  chose Trooper Roberts based on leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers, and the public.

Trooper Roberts is now in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year Award to be announced at a later date.

Trooper Roberts joined the Highway Patrol in 1999 and has served at the Cleveland Metro Post.  Originally from Cleveland and a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, Trooper Roberts served in the U.S. Marine Corps., and attended the University of Akron.

Other Highway Patrol awards received in the past include:

  • Trooper of the Year in 2001, 2003, and 2005.
  • District Trooper of the Year in 2005.

    Medical Mutual of Ohio has confirmed that an employee sent 45 emails to the wrong person containing personal information for more than 6,000 of its Medicare Advantage customers.  According to a spokesperson for Med Mutual, based in Cleveland, this was an accident because the employee typed in an incorrect email address and the data was going to a third party that didn't have authorization to be looking at private information.
