COVENTRY TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) - A "one-pot" meth lab bust in Summit County.
On December 4 at 11 p.m., a Summit County Sheriff's Deputy responded to the 2900 block of South Main Street for downed power lines. The location is adjacent to the Lakeside Elementary School.
When the deputy arrived, he noticed a bottle on the roadway with smoke coming out of it. Upon further investigation, it was found to be a "one-pot" meth lab. The area was evacuated and additional Sheriff's units and meth lab remediation personnel responded to the scene.
On December 5 at 5 p.m., Summit County Sheriff's Deputies made a traffic stop on a vehicle for reckless operation on South Main Street in the city of Akron.
While speaking to the driver, they noticed a 20 oz. soda bottle that appeared to be a possible meth lab. The occupants admitted to producing meth in the vehicle. Jeffrey Sumey, 30, and Jack Zager, 26, were arrested for Illegal Manufacture of Drugs and Illegal Assembly or Possession of Chemicals for the Manufacture of Drugs.
Both men were transported to the Summit County Jail.
