AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Two home invasion robberies were reported in Akron early Wednesday morning. Police tell 19 Action News the crimes appear to be unrelated.
The first robbery occurred shortly before 2 a.m. the 500 block of Brown Street. The resident, a 32-year-old man, reported three men and a woman entered his apartment and robbed him at gunpoint of his belongings: $80.00 in cash, blue and white Jordan shoes, a DS notepad and a cell phone. The victim was struck in the face with the butt of the gun, causing minor injuries. He was treated and released for his injuries.
The second robbery occurred shortly after 2 a.m. in the 900 block of Barbara Avenue. The residents reported they heard a knock at the door. When they opened the door, the masked suspect, armed with a handgun, entered the apartment. The suspect robbed the residents of their cell phones and a wallet. No injuries were reported.
