OSP investigates fatal Grafton car accident

GRAFTON, OH (WOIO) -

The Elyria Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic crash.

It happened Tuesday in Grafton Township at 9:27 AM. The crash occurred on State Route 83 between State Route 303 and Law Road.

Christopher M. Raatz, 52, of Louisville, Kentucky, was driving northbound on State Route 83 in a 2012 Freightliner Semi.

Kimberly A. Blackley, 37, of Hilliard, Ohio, was driving southbound on State Route 83 in a 2012 Honda Accord.

Cops say Blackley's vehicle travelled left of center for an unknown reason and was struck by the Raatz vehicle. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and had to be towed from the scene by Jeff's Towing and World's Towing.

Raatz was transported to Medina Hospital by Grafton Township EMS for minor injuries. Blackley was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lorain County Coroner's Office.

Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
