Cleveland (WOIO) - The Indians officially signed free agent first baseman Mark Reynolds to a one-year deal.
Reynolds spent the last two seasons with the Baltimore Orioles, hitting .221 with 23 homers and 69 RBI's. He also lead the American League in strikeouts.
The University of Virginia product began his professional career in 2004 after being selected in the sixteenth round of the First-Year Player Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He debuted with Arizona in 2007 and hit .260 with 44 homers and 102 RBI's in 155 games for the D-Backs in 2009.
To allow room on the 40-man roster, the Indians designated infielder Russ Canzler for assignment.
