Kent State student killed in fall at former Akron plant

KENT, OH (WOIO) -

A Kent State student was killed in a fall at a former plant in Akron over the weekend.

The accident happened at the former Atlantic Foundry early Saturday morning.

According to police Adrienne Ryba, 19, was walking across an elevated walkway with her boyfriend, a Hiram College student, and another couple when she fell.

Though her death is expected to be ruled an accident, the teen's boyfriend, 20-year-old Collin Butler, was charged with misconduct in an emergency and obstructing official business. He's out on bond.

Calling hours for Adrienne are Wednesday at the Northside Christian Church in Wadsworth. Funeral services are Thursday at 11.
