CHARDON, OH (WOIO) - Accused Chardon shooter TJ Lane appeared in court for Wednesday another pre-trial hearing.
Today Lane's mother took the stand to talk about how she learned about the shooting, and statements she made to police after the she got to the police station.
Also on the witness stand, officers who questioned the teen's parents when they were first brought in for questioning.
Last week a Geauga County Common Pleas Court judge denied a motion to suppress statements made my TJ Lane to sheriff's deputies. Lane's attorney's had asked that statements he made in the back of a police cruiser, after the Chardon High School shootings, be thrown out.
Lane is charged in the February 27 shooting at Chardon High School, which he has admitted to.
17-year-old Russell King, Jr., 16-year-old Daniel Parmertor and 16-year-old Demetrius Hewlin were killed. 17-year-old Nick Walczak is paralyzed from the waist down. 18-year-old Joy Rickers and a 6th, unidentified victim were treated and released from the hospital.
His trial is expected to begin January 14.
