Berea (WOIO) - Browns running back Trent Richardson thinks the NFL rumors swirling around Alabama head coach Nick Saban are just that, rumors.
The rookie, who played under Saban at Alabama, said on Wednesday he would be shocked if Saban left the Crimson Tide for the NFL.
"I can't see him coming to the NFL," Richardson said. "He's got so much going there. He has no reason to leave. He gets what he needs and he treats his program like the NFL. He makes sure his players are prepared for the game and prepared for the next level when the time comes."
Saban has been linked to a possible head coaching job with the Browns. Many are speculating current head coach Pat Shurmur will be fired at the end of the season.
"I don't believe it," Richardson said. "Rumors are rumors. I don't buy into it and that's one thing he taught me to do - not buy into rumors."
Saban has won two national championships at Alabama, in 2009 and 2011. He tried his hand in the NFL for two seasons in Miami, going 15-17.
