Murder suspect may have been mistakenly released from jail

A man picked up this week for murder has apparently been mistakenly released from jail by a city jailer after he went to court on a traffic ticket.

Investigators must look for Drew Danzy again.

U.S. Marshals picked Danzy, 18 up this week for murder.  Danzy is alleged to have shot and killed a friend during an incident in Cleveland that happened in November 2012.

Records show he went to the city jail.  Then after a court hearing Thursday, he was released after a Corrections Officer made an administrative error with some serious consequences.

The Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department says the prisoner was never turned over to them from the city jail.  Spokesman John O'Brien said, "There should have been a hold on him."

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of a known fugitive is encouraged to contact the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 1-866-4WANTED or Text keyword WANTED and tip to TIP411 (847411) Tipsters can remain anonymous and reward money is available.
