Snow Coming Tonight, Retired Gen.Schwarzkopf Dies, Menchie's Birthday Contest

A cold and dry morning with temperatures starting in the teens to low 20s. Expect the dry air to hold into tonight. After midnight the snow will begin to arrive in Richland, Ashland and Wayne counties. Snow will continue to spread up from the south with snow arriving in Cleveland by 6am. Accumulating snow will continue before noon with 2-4" before we transition Saturday afternoon into a setup for lake effect snow showers with the wind out of the northwest through Sunday morning.

Retired Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf has died. He gained national attention in 19-91 when he led Operation Desert Storm, which liberated Kuwait after the Iraqi invasion. Schwarzkopf, known as "Stormin' Norman," reportedly died at his home in Tampa. He retired there after serving as commander-in-chief of U.S. Central Command. Former President George H. W. Bush offered his condolences in a statement, calling Schwarzkopf "a true American patriot and one of the great military leaders of his generation." He was 78.
