Four turnovers spelled doom for the Browns on Sunday as they lost to the Steelers 24-10.
Thad Lewis threw a first quarter interception in the red zone to end a drive. There were also two Browns fumbles that lead directly to two Steeler touchdowns. Josh Gordon fumbled inside the Browns 30 in the second quarter, four plays later Ben Roethlisberger threw a touchdown pass to make it 10-3 Pittsburgh.
In the fourth quarter with the Steelers leading 17-10 Travis Benjamin was stripped of the ball to end a drive. Six plays later Roethlisberger threw his second touchdown of the day to seal the game.
Josh Johnson came in for one play and added another fumble late in the fourth quarter.
Thad Lewis started for the Browns and was largely effective. The third year passer out of Duke finished 22 of 32 for 204 yards, one touchdown, one interception and a rating of 83.3.
The Browns finish the season at 5-11. The team is expected to fire Head Coach Pat Shurmur and GM Tom Heckert on Monday.
