Berea road reopens after car crashes into pole

Police are investigating after a late night crash in Berea.

The accident happened just after midnight Thursday when a 42-year-old man drove his car into a utility pole.  Police don't suspect alcohol or drugs to be factors.

North Rocky River Drive between Grayton Road and Depot Street was closed for several hours while crews made the necessary repairs. The roadway reopened to traffic shortly after 7:30 a.m.

The accident also caused power lines to fall on nearby railroad tracks, affecting a major train route.

The driver was taken to Southwest General Hospital with minor injuries.
