Police say a 70-year-old Geauga County man is dead, after a driver who appeared to be drunk or high crashed into him. Police also say the impaired driver was speeding.
The fatal accident happened at 5:55 a.m. on Friday at E. 155th and Harvard Avenue.
Police say a 60-year-old man was driving a Dodge Caravan eastbound on Harvard Avenue and struck the victim's Kia Spectra as he was pulling out of a parking lot and attempting to make a left turn onto Harvard.
The man driving the Kia is identified as Thomas Thomas. EMS pronounced him dead on the scene.
The driver of the Dodge was taken into custody and placed under arrest for Aggravated Vehicular Homicide. He is now at the Cleveland Police Division's Central Prison Unit, where he is awaiting charges.
This investigation is being handled by the Cleveland Division of Police Accident Investigation Unit.
