INDEPENDENCE, OH (WOIO) - Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao has missed the last ten games and isn't ready to come back. Varejao bruised his right knee against Toronto on December 18.
"I'm still trying to be very optimistic that he'll be able to play, I just don't know when," Cavaliers head coach Byron Scott said after practice on Tuesday. "I miss him every day. But I'm hoping I'm not talking like it's long-term or for the season, or anything like that. I'm still optimistic that he'll be able to play this year until the doctors tell me something different."
Varejao was having a terrific season before getting hurt, averaging 14.1 points and 14.4 rebounds per game.
"I'm disappointed because he was having an All-Star-type year," Scott said.
Varejao has missed 92 games the past two seasons with various injuries.
